Eyelid Surgery
Arm Lift Surgery

Eyelid surgery which is medically known as blepharoplasty, is the removal or repositioning of excess skin or fat around the eyes.

This procedure can be done to reduce ‘puffy’ looking eyes, to create a double-lid appearance from an individual with single lids or to improve vision. Eyelid surgery will tighten the muscles around your eyes giving a more youthful and refreshed appearance.

Do I Need or Qualify for Eyelid Surgery?

You may wish to have eyelid surgery if you find you have excess fat deposits causing your eyes to look tired or puffy. To qualify for this surgery, you should be in good health without any underlying serious medical conditions that could increase risk from surgery. It is also very important for the patient to ensure they have a positive attitude and are realistic about the final results.

How is Eyelid Surgery Performed?

Incisions are usually made in the creases of the eye or below the lower eyelashes allowing for the removal of excess fat deposits.

What are the Pre-Operative Preparations?
Prior to surgery, you will need to go to your family doctor and have an ECG and CBC (complete Blood Count) along with these medical processes you will need to submit before photos. You will also be required to read and complete our questionnaire on our website. Remember, Dr. Rodas will only do what is requested. Be specific and note any problem areas you would like fixed.

What is the Recover Period for Eyelid Surgery?
Swelling and bruising should reduce within 1-2 weeks but final results may not be seen for up to 6 months post-surgery. You will need to apply ointment to the incisions and may need to apply ice to reduce bruising and swelling. If stitches are used, Dr. Rodas will typically remove them several days to a week post-surgery. You may also experience excessive eye watering for the first 2-3 weeks. Post-operative directives provided by Dr. Rodas and his team should be followed during patient recovery.
